- The South African ports are operated by Transnet National Ports Authority [TNPA] which is an operating division of Transnet SOC Ltd., a State Owned Company [SOC].
- TNPA is a port authority that manages eight ports in South Africa. It has several business units providing various services to a diverse spectrum of port users. These include Marine Operations, Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), Infrastructure and licensing of port services which is provided in a safe and secure environment.
